In getting to know horses, I quickly learned how important scent, aroma and breathing are in animal communication. Our sense of smell can tell us so much - identify us, reassure and affirm the joy and contentment of friendship. Through openness, respect and trust, we become accepted into the herd...the great family of life on Earth.
From my series of HORSE paintings - celebrating the beauty, spirit and tenderness of equines. Despite their large size and strength, horses often communicate in a most delicate, gentle manner...a soft nudge, subtle eye contact... sharing breath...day dreaming ...transcending space and time...
they become one with the universal music.
Horses are magnificent members of our Earth Family.
Let us evolve and create new compassionate traditions of non-use...allowing them dignity, freedom and long happy lives.
All animals have so much to teach us about kindness, love and life...strength, compassion and tenderness.
May we always respectfully and lovingly protect them.
