SHETLAND SHEEP:  Goldie & Cola
About five years ago, I had the joy and privilege of getting to know these two dear Shetland Sheep and the rest of their herd mates.  Sheep can typically be rather shy and timid but with great patience, kindness and respect I earned their trust.  In time our great love and affection grew and they became a very special part of my family.  Sadly, theses two are not part of my world anymore but they will always have a very special place in my heart.  Last I heard, Goldie is alive and reasonably well.  However, Cola tragically died a few years ago from fear and exposure after a poorly run shearing event.  Her trauma, exploitation and death was so very cruel and unnecessary.  I hope people will come to understand that wool is not a victim-less product.  When shearing is absolutely needed (because of genetic manipulations), it should be done under the most gentle and responsible methods possible. Ultimately, these innocent and sensitive beings cherish their family relationships and life itself -  and should never be used or harmed.  They are some of the most peaceful beings you will ever meet.  I share this painting with you of my dear friends with great love.

It is urgently important that we unveil the deceptions and delusions that allow us to compartmentalize our compassion, goodness and ethics.
We must stop betraying *non*human lives and the Earth.
When we discover our conscience ~ we must act.

All beings cherish safety, family, freedom and LIFE
